2010 FIFA World Cup

The Royal Bafokeng Nation is delighted to have been the first traditional community to host the FIFA 2010 World Cup Finals. The Bafokeng's capital of Phokeng (pronouced "Po-keng") partnered up with adjacent Rustenburg for 5 first round matches, as well as an epic second round match featuring Ghana and the USA.

In addition, we hosted the England team at our brand new, state-of-the-art Bafokeng Sports Campus. Several teams were interested in the top-class facilities, the FIFA 'A' grade training pitches, the bushveld seclusion and, of course, the altitude of Phokeng.
